Hello Friends,
I'm Elizabeth, and I have decided to begin a winter wear drive for those in need.
Together, with the good people of Volusia County schools, we are helping to keep people warm this winter. They are helping me to find families in need around Volusia. I'm helping them to find warm items for those families.
It has come to all of our attention since the CBS News Special on the Central Florida homeless that there are so many more of us in need, and that many of our communities' children attend school from the family car, with no other choice than to call it home for awhile.
The number of those in need climbs daily, with some 1500 homeless in Central Florida and even more in need from time to time, with the spans in between getting longer.
We should all be able to rely on a little help from our friends, so it is my pleasure to try to help our fellow community of friends.
I hope you can take the time to see what you may not need any longer and contact me to donate a few items. Even one jacket or blanket can really help someone.
A lovely person who knits beautiful hats and scarves and has donated these items she had made solely for this purpose, so if you have any excess yarn for her to knit more items, that would be welcome too!
I hope those of you who are in need this season will not hesitate to reach out to me so that we can join as a community, and help one another. If you need an item because your child has outgrown his, please donate the smaller item for another child, if you don't have any donations but are in need, this program was designed for you so please contact me through this website. :) xox
We pick up and deliver, so all you have to do is donate the item/s or call and tell me what it is that you are lacking so that we may provide you with whatever it is your need!
